Child Care Matters!

As Idaho’s State Training and Registry System, IdahoSTARS’s mission is to promote high quality, inclusive child care throughout Idaho. IdahoSTARS is a partnership between the Center on Disabilities and Human Development (CDHD) at the University of Idaho, and the Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children (Idaho AEYC). The CDHD is improving lives for people with disabilities and their families through exemplary and innovative education, outreach, research, and service. The mission of Idaho AEYC is to improve the quality of life for Idaho's young children and their families by improving professional practice in early care and education, building public understanding and support, and building and maintaining a strong, diverse, and inclusive organization.

IdahoSTARS is a statewide program to assist parents by offering child care referrals and information about quality child care settings and to assist child care providers with a variety of professional development opportunities and resources.

The staff in our seven regional Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) offices are available to assist child care providers and parents. Please call the 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine by dialing 2-1-1 or 1-800-926-2588 and ask to be connected to your local CCR&R office.
