The ICCP helps pay for a portion of child care services and the parents pay the remaining portion.
The amount of assistance a family receives from ICCP is based on certain factors:
- Number of hours the parents are working, in school, or participating in approved activities
- Parent’s income
- Cost of child care
- Age of child
- Location and type of provider selected
ICCP can only pay up to a certain amount for the cost of child care. Payments are sent directly to the child care provider for the amount the family qualifies for, based on the factors above. If a provider charges more than the ICCP limit, parents will have to pay the difference.
Parents must pay the provider for all of the costs not covered by ICCP. The portion that parents pay is called the "co-pay." Families are able to select from a variety of authorized providers.
